Photography came into my life in the early 90's and since 2007 I have worked as a freelance (professional) photographer. Within the profession I am very much guided by the surrounding environment(s) to capture the mood and atmosphere. I believe that something simple, like a drop of water, or mist, can turn something ordinary into something special.
Past assignments have included work for goldsmiths, individuals requesting a (outdoor) portrait, and "Waddenvereniging", a Society that aims to protect the Wadden Sea area, a World Heritage Site, together with private exhibitions of my work.

Over the months of December '15 and January '16, an exhibition of "High in the Lowlands, Low in the Highlands" was on display at "The Big Shed", Tombreck, Perthshire. During that period I have worked on a book, based on the photoblog renatedebackere.blogspot.nl. That book is published early December 2016. If you are interested, please drop me a line.
